IITR Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit/tax exempt corporation and shall operate exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The IITR Foundation’s purpose is to receive donations, bequests, gifts, and grants from the alumni, children, relatives or friends of alumni, associates, benefactors, whether the donors are individuals, corporate entities, or other organizations for the benefits of the students, faculty, staff and the alumni of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), or other educational institutions that impart education and promote research in the areas of technology, engineering, science, management, social science and humanities. All donations, bequests, gifts, and grants may be used for general use, or for any specific purposes.
The specific purposes may include scholarships, awards, fellowships, research grants, establishing faculty chairs, attending and/or presenting papers at national or international conferences; seeking, promoting, or supporting internships and placements; and any other purpose which is intended to enhance the know-how, abilities, capabilities, and other skills of individuals, groups and organizations.

The purpose of the IITR Foundation, Inc. is to create funds for students, faculty, and supporting staff development, curriculum innovation, research support, entrepreneurial and innovative initiatives, promotion of excellence, welfare funds, community outreach, and to support disadvantaged individuals.
The IITR Foundation’s purpose is to foster collaboration with like-minded educational and research organizations for improving and advancing quality of life on the planet earth through education, scientific advances, development and research, and other related activities.
